Seeding DBER is a research program in undergraduate biology education.

It emphasizes applying discipline-based education research for undergraduate biology education research in India. The program caters to faculty development program and students’ understanding to build a collaborative community of biology educators engaged in evidence-based research on teaching, learning and assessment in classroom and lab.

Faculty Development Program: We conduct Discipline-based Education Research (DBER) workshops as part of Faculty Development Program (FDP) for undergraduate biology faculty, teachers, educators, researchers in various themes for developing evidence based teaching practices, modules for classroom and lab.

The FDP aligns with the National Educational Policy (NEP) 2020 guidelines on capacity-building programs for STEM faculty to improve the quality of higher education through updated disciplinary knowledge, innovative pedagogy, experiential learning, research orientation, inclusion, and stronger student outcomes.

Students’ Understanding: We conduct research studies on investigating undergraduate biology students’ understanding of experimentation, scientific literacy, misconceptions, assessment modules, lab based modules, etc.
